From 17 March to 23 March, Sport Relief is challenging the UK to do one billion steps, to be counted with the help of the Sport Relief app. Through a new partnership with Pottermore, users will be able to join the Hogwarts League within the app, where they can select and compete for their houses.
“Sport Relief can’t believe its luck to be working with Pottermore and to have the Hogwarts League in the Sport Relief App“, said Liz Warner, CEO of Comic Relief, the charity behing Sport Relief. “We are thrilled to be able to call on all Harry Potter fans to join the Hogwarts league and help the nation beat the Billion Steps Challenge, and raise funds for our projects during the week of Sport Relief.”
Pottermore will also donate proceeds from the new Quidditch Through the Ages audiobook narrated by Andrew Lincoln to Comic Relief, as well as Lumos, the charity organization founded by [J.K. Rowling]. The Harry Potter author also wrote the Hogwarts Library books originally to raise funds for Comic Relief. Pottermore also teased a Quidditch-themed challenge on the app, to be announced soon.
Sport Relief is a biennial event set up by Comic Relief, which aims to make the UK more active and raise money to help in causes like mental health and the distribution of drugs for malaria in Sub-Saharan Africa. The app is available for iOS and Android. To download it, go to Sport Relief’s website.
