The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, located on the Leavesden Studios, where the eight “Harry Potter” films and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” were filmed, announced on Wednesday (4) a new feature, dedicated to Dobby, the house-elf.
The new feature, named “Directing Dobby”, will be dedicated to showing how the filmmakers behind the Harry Potter movies brought the house-elf to life, from a tennis ball on a stick to guide the cast to incredibly detailed models, which included hand-painted veins in the eyes.
During the activities, that will happen between February 4th and March 31st (2017), the visitors wil have the opportunity to see details of the model created by the Creature and Make-Up Effects team, since it will be removed from its display and put in the centre of the Great Hall. Number four, Privet Drive will also be available to the public, including the hundred of flying Hogwarts letters sent to Harry Potter and a really special visit from the house-elf.
In addition to that, a motion capture experience will be available to the visitors. Three different stages of the motion capture used in Dobby will be shown, reflecting the visitors’ movements, from an initial wireframe to the fully-rendered version, exactly like he is in the films.
More information and tickets can be found on their official website. The tickets must be booked in advance and can’t be bought directly on the studio.
