New eBooks inspired by the exhibition Harry Potter: A History of Magic will be published by Pottermore Publishing. In all, there will be four books: Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts, Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology, Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy, and Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures. The first two books, about Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions and Herbology, will be released on June 27, 2019.
The eBooks are an adaptation of the Audio-Book narrated by Natali Dormer. They are inspired by the Hogwarts subjects and bring the readers more information about the folklore and magic behind the Harry Potter series, in addition to new illustrations made by the London artist Rohan Daniel Eason. The books also bring documents that were part of the exhibition, such as notes, manuscript pages, and charming sketches.
The exhibition Harry Potter: A History of Magic, which was at the British Library between October 2017 and February 2018, was part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone publication. It exhibited more than 100 artifacts from the Wizarding World of J.K. Rowling, including contributions of the author herself, as original drawings and sketches pages.
Initially, the books will be launched in English, French, Italian and Germany and are already available for presale on Amazon UK, Amazon US, Apple Store, and Kobo.
