Bloomsbury has released the book J.K Rowling: An Updated Edition, an up-to-date, larger and hardcover edition that features items written by the author herself.
The collection includes covers of all editions of her books, many materials written by Rowling, such as original contributions in other works, editions of the Daily Prophet, pamphlets, a hand-drawn from the Black Family tree and even notes in which the author of the biography, Philip Errington, did from the interviews with editors and lists of errors in the first editions of [Harry Potter], which have been corrected later.
Also, it is possible to see different versions from the covers and descriptions of each book of the [Harry Potter] series (only those released in the United States and the United Kingdom), cataloged and placed together, editions of each book of Hogwarts’ Library and various versions of The Casual Vacancy and the Cormoran Strike series.
Since the last printing of the bibliography, released in 2013, more than 40 editions of [J.K. Rowling]’s books have been published. Including the illustrated editions by Jim Kay of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and the scritp of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, along with the script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The book begins with these words from the author:
“As someone who respects comprehensive research, I am in awe of the level of detail and amount of time Philip Errington has dedicated to this slavishly thorough and somewhat mind-boggling bibliography. Even in my most deluded moments, I could have never anticipated that an idea that occurred to me on a train to Manchester could have spawned this amount of verbiage and prose in every language under the sun. I am humbled and deeply flattered.” J.K. Rowling
