The Wizarding World Digital, new official website of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises, is getting a new app for mobile phones with Android and iOS systems. According to Pottermore, the app will have completely new tools.
The idea is for the application to be an official guide of the Wizarding World of J.K. Rowling. Although it is being tested in New Zealand, it has no date to be released in other countries around the world.
The application will also have a digital magazine of the Wizarding World, the Wizarding Weekly, that will be weekly released, on Wednesdays. In addition, the service will present news, announcements, and researches related to the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series.
In addition to the access to new content, the users will be able to carry in their pocket information about their Hogwarts House, Wand, and Patronus, once the application will be linked to the accounts on Pottermore and with the digital passport from the Wizarding World website.
Articles written by J.K. Rowling for Pottermore throughout the past years will also be available on the app. The texts will be designed in new formats, according to the official announcement. Finally, as a bonus, exclusive contents may be unlocked by codes hidden on news and e-mails sent by the app.
Despite being indicated for all ages, the app will also count on parental control, so they can limit their children’s usage.
The app has no date to be released, but it is already being tested in New Zealand, as it has already happened with the game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, once it is a technologically advanced country, but a small population.
