The third film from the Fantastic Beasts franchise will be set in Rio de Janeiro, according to Wizarding World – the official website for the Harry Potter universe. The film is scheduled to premiere on November 12th, 2021.

According to the website, the film will be directed by David Yates, who also coordinated the production of the first two films from the franchise as well as the last four Harry Potter films.

The screenplay is being written by Harry Potter‘s author, J. K. Rowling, along with Steve Kloves, who adapted all the Harry Potter books into films, except for Order of the Phoenix.

Cast for the new Fantastic Beasts

The cast will have Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), Katherine Waterson (Tina Goldstein), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Ezra Miller (Credence/Aurelius Dumbledore) back. Jude Law also repeats his role as Albus Dumbledore, while Johnny Depp plays the villain Gellert Grindelwald.

The comedian and actress Jessica Williams, who appeared briefly in the Nicholas Flamel’s book in Crimes of Grindelwald, will have a bigger part in this film, according to the Wizarding World website. Williams plays Professor Eulalie Hicks, from Ilvermorny, the North American Wizarding School.
