In interview to the Entertainment Weekly, David Yates revealed that each movie of the Fantastic Beasts franchise will be set in a different city. “Jo’s already told us where the next one is taking place. It’s very exciting. This is a global story, ultimately. And given that there’s a global audience for this, it’s all the more delightful to take the story to different parts of the world.”, said the director.
The first adventure of the magizoologist Newt Scamander had New York, in the United States, as its scenario. The sequel, which comes out on November 16th of 2018, is set in New York, London and Paris, with references to the Harry Potter stories. Some months after been captured, Grindelwald makes a dramatic escape from the MACUSA and starts gathering followers for his wizarding supremacist cause. With the help of Newt Scamander, the only one who can stop him is Albus Dumbledore, a Hogwarts Professor. In an increasingly darker era of the Wizarding World, the characters will face dangers capable of testing their loyalties.
