On an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the producer of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, David Heyman, told the reason why Jude Law was chosen to play Albus Dumbledore on the sequel The Crimes of Grindewald.
“He has authority, a spark in the eyes and, sometimes, is a bit elliptical. But he also has the energy of an young and joyful man. He brings spark, boldness, authority and power, but at the same time brings a lot of vitality to the movie. You understand why he would be your favorite teacher and someone you’d believe being an extraordinary wizard.”
Last Thursday, 16th, the Warner Bros. Pictures made the anticipated announcement of the official title of the sequel and revealed the first image of the characterized cast in a poster with several hidden secrets.
With its première set to hit theaters worldwide on November 16th, 2018, the sequel is set in New York, London and Paris and might have references to the Harry Potter plot lines. Some months after being captured, Grindewald makes a dramatic scape of MACUSA and starts gathering followers to his wizard supremacy cause. With the help of the magizoologist Newt Scamander, the only one that can stop him is Albus Dumbledore, Hogwarts’ Professor. In a much darker era of the Wizarding World, the characters will face dangers capable of testing their loyalties.
