Dan Fogler, who plays Jacob Kowalski in Fantastic Beasts, said that the franchise’s third film will approach, even if indirectly, World War II.
“It’s leading towards this massive war with the backdrop of World War II, so you can just imagine epic battle scenes are coming,” he mentioned in his interview to the news portal, Sify.
Filming postponed
The actor also mentioned that the filming of Fantastic Beasts 3 was postponed in the effort of avoiding the spread of the new coronavirus (Covid-19). They were set to start on March 16th, according to the news portal, Deadline.
“We’re just waiting,” he said. “I guess when everybody else starts [back up], when the mechanism starts to move again and everybody starts to get back to work, that’s when we’ll get back to work. Hopefully, sooner than later,” he adds.
Warner Bros. Pictures has not informed if the film’s premiere, set to happen on November 11th, 2021, will need to be changed due to the coronavirus.
Besides Fantastic Beasts, the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the theme parks, and the visits to the Studio Tour were all brought to a halt due to the virus.
