In interview to Entertainment Tonight, Emma Watson revealed the existence of a group WhatsApp for the main cast of Harry Potter. She also tells she used the group chat to invite the actors to watch Beauty and The Beast, in which she stars.
Emma says she feels supported by her former co-workers. They keep in touch through the group chat and, even with complicated schedules, the actors who play Neville (Matthew Lewis) and Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) managed to attend to a Beauty and The Beast screening with the film’s star.
The actress joked about how trying to reunite the Harry Potter cast is like catching Pokémon. She’s trying to meet up with Bonnie Wright and Daniel Radcliffe, forever our Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter. It’s complicated, though, since the actors are spread around the world.
Emma also talked about the series on Jimmy Kimmel, where she watched a backstage footage of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. It was a scene featuring Harry, Ron and Hermione. In it, while the other actors speak, Emma repeats the lines under her breath.
“You laugh, but this is actually quite traumatic for me, because I created issues because of this” Emma jokes with Kimmel “I would ruin takes. [Director] Chris would be like ‘Cut! Emma, you’re doing it again. You’re mouthing Dan’s lines‘ and I’d be like ‘oh, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry! Oh, I feel so bad‘. But, like, I couldn’t help myself. I was such a loser. I really loved those books, I really wanted to do my job well, and I kind of overdid it”, she says.
Directed by Bill Condon, Beauty and The Beast premieres on March 17, and besides Emma Watson, it counts with big names such as Emma Thompson and Ian McKellen.
