The actress Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, launched a hotline for legal counseling for women suffering sexual harassment in the workplace. The service, that is a partnership with the movement Time’s Up, will be free of charge.
The hotline will be available to women in England and Wales under the number 020 7490 0152.
The service goal is to help women to understand their legal rights so they can responsibilize the employer and the harasser. “Understanding what your rights are, how you can assert them and the choices you have if you’ve experienced harassment is such a vital part of creating safe workplaces for everyone, and this advice line is such a huge development in ensuring that all women are supported, wherever we work”, stated Emma.
The service is being financed by the Justice and Equality Fund Time’s Up and managed by the UK Fund for Women and Girls. The counseling will be provided by the charity Rights of Woman.
