The platform of ethical and sustainable fashion Good On You, responsible for rating how ethical a fashion brand is, has the actress Emma Watson – who played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise – as their new supporter. Besides being an advocate for feminist issues, the actress has already participated in projects involving sustainability like her collaboration with the brand People Tree creating a clothing line based on social and environmental responsibility.
Good On You rates the level of ethical quality of fashion brands using a scale that goes from zero to five points. The criteria analyzed are the conditions of the workers involved in the production, the environmental impact and if the brand uses animal products in their clothes.
The company published a note in their website explaining why Emma decided to support the cause. “Fashion helps shape our identities. What we wear signifies who we are and what we stand for. I support Good On You because I need to know my clothes do not harm our precious planet or its people”, wrote Watson.
Good On You will now analyze clothes worn by Emma during red carpets and other events in order to guarantee that they fit in their sustainable principles.
