Actress Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones, will narrate the Harry Potter: A History of Magic audiobook.
Based on the exhibit that goes by the same name, the audiobook will reveal stories of real magic as well as how some historical objects, manuscripts and charms influenced Harry Potter. The book is structured according to the subjects taught at Hogwarts. Amongst the mentioned topics are European runes, crystal balls, broomsticks, giants and werewolves. The listeners will also learn details of J. K. Rowling’s writing process and the development of the series through access to the author’s and the editors’ files.
“I’ve always adored the Harry Potter books, but it wasn’t until I started speaking with the British Library’s curators – hearing about the various myths, legends and cultures that have helped shape the wizarding world – that I really began to appreciate the richness and depth of J. K. Rowling’s writing. There are so many wonderful details to explore and ‘A History of Magic’ unearths some remarkable gems of information that are sure to have listeners awestruck“, said the actress.
In a video for Pottermore, Natalie Dormer also spoke about the audiobook:
Harry Potter: A History of Magic is already in pre-sale in the United Stated and in the United Kingdom and its release is set to October 4th, the day of the exhibit’s opening in New-York Historical Society, in the United States.
