Chris Riddell is known for the illustrated versions of Neil Gaiman books, such as The Sleeper and the Spindle . About being invited to illustrate a Harry Potter book, he said: “To be invited into the Harry Potter world is an honor and incredibly exciting. These fairy tales are vivid and beautifully made and they will resound in the format Bloosmbury has given me. The biggest joy was to find the richness in Dumbledore’s footnotes. I can barely wait to put on my robes and start my legacy as a substitute teacher at Hogwarts.”
Published in 2008, the original book brings children’s tales from the Wizarding World and notes from Albus Dumbledore. Mentioned in Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hallows, one of the tales is very important to the story’s plot.
In the United Kingdom, the book will cost 25 pounds.
