“Harry Potter and The Cursed Child”, already a success among critics and public, is starting to be noticed by theatre awards.
The website Evening Standard published the nominee’s list for the Evening Stardard Theatre Awards 2016 and it appears in four categories: Best play, best director (John Tiffany), best design (Christine Jones) and emerging talent (Anthony Boyle, who plays Scorpius Malfoy).
The nominee’s list also counts with names well known by Harry Potter fans. The actress Norma Dumezweni, who plays our beloved Hermione on “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child“, was nominated for best actress for her performance on the play “Linda”.
Sir Kennethe Branagh, who played Gilderoy Lockhart in “Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets” and Ralph Fiennes, our eternal Lord Voldemort, were nominated best actors for “Entertainer at the Garrick” and “The Master Builder”, respectively.
You can check out the full nominee’s list here.
The winners will be announced on November 13 in a ceremony organised by the Standard’s owner and Sir Elton John at the Old Vic theatre.
